The irony of the education industry during a pandemic

I don’t know how people will take this post. But I request you all please be with me in carving the shape of the education industry for a better future. Recently I have come to know that not every but most of the private engineering/management institutes started reacting in two manners during COVID-19.

Type one-

We have seen many institutes taking care well of their faculties and other staff during this pandemic by compensating with full salaries and a congenial work environment for working from home. Some of them have also provided mask, sanitizer, and others during this pandemic and console the whole family even with either through phone calls or messages.

But very few are lies in the above category even you can count on the figure. Hats off to them.

Types two-

Unfortunately, you will find most private institutions in this category. During this crucial time, they have started taking the undue advantages of their faculties and staff by followings:

  • 1.       Terminating their jobs for no reason.
  • 2.       Compelling them to work with lesser salaries.
  • 3.       Assigning them unproductive work like fee collection and admissions.

The list of their exploitation is on.

I think more than an institution board even faculties and staff are more responsible for their exploitation reason may be any. But this needs to take care of immediately. Also for the institutions, it's a golden opportunity to correct the practice and make the team a loyal one.

Essentially, the end-user (patient) consumes a product and pays the cost. Use of medical representatives for marketing products to physicians and to exert some influence over others in the hierarchy of decision-makers has been a time-tested tradition. Typically, salesforce expense comprises an estimated 15 percent to 20 percent of annual product revenues, the largest line item on the balance sheet. Despite this other expense, the industry is still plagued with some very serious strategic and operational ...
